Cloud 13 Records

Cloud 13 is run by Steev and Lori Taylor out of Tallahassee, Florida.  I began working with them to promote the Ums, a bitchin' rock group to which I belonged.  Right now they're doing a great job promoting Soft Targets and their son Ander.

This issue was sold to benefit Brehon Institute, a Tallahassee non-profit assisting homeless women through pregnancy.  I was very pleased to help them and certainly wish I could have supported them more.  The music content includes Soft Targets, The Intoxicators!, Blue Moon, Dead Legs, Cold Water Army, Jaminy Sweets, and Oenyaw.  Poetry is written by Chad Sweeney, Sandy Longhorn, and Michael Mejia.  The digital gallery features John Parker, Valerie Goodwin, Brad Williams, Holly Hanessian, and Joe Fisher.
My favorite thing about releasing this issue was the series of shows put together to promote The Fertile and Brehon.  Tallahassee musicians from across genres performed at 621 Gallery, Club Down Under, and The Warehouse, drawing in hundreds of people.  I love putting together a good show.

With this release the product really fleshed out.  Liz Vernon did a stellar job on the digital gallery and Josh Agerstrand rocked the cd face design using art from Peter Overman.  Music contributions from The Grand Canyons, Mark Leadon, The Humbell, Chum Much, Gettysburg, and Holy Rosery.  Poetry from Erin Belieu, James Kimbrell, Keith Rodgers, Rick Campbell, and Kim Addonizio.  The digital gallery featured Marisa Yow, Daniel Allen, Ben Pannell, Bill Humpheries, and work from the Allen Roberson presentation Bike Power.
This was released with support from several Tallahassee organizations; FC2, 621 Gallery, V89, and CPE.  Working on the V89 promo with Dave Morris, aka Hearty White, was a real treat.  Dave has a lot of experience and brings a terrific attitude to his work.  The true supporters of creativity stand out through their attitude.

hello from The Fertile

I started creating art products in 2004 with The Fertile Compilation which grew into a biannual release from Cloud 13 Records featuring Tallahassee music, art, and poetry. The final release was sold to benefit Brehon Institute, a Tallahassee non-profit. Future projects will include collaborative work with New York based art and human service organizations. The Fertile will become a national network of artists creating creative products and events to benefit human service endeavors.
